This is our whole zone! All missionaries who are going to serve in Cambodia, Vietnam and Thailand! The older districts will leave soon... |
Sawaadii kha!
FIRST OF ALL: HAPPY BIRTHDAY, PAPA!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!
It's been a great week!!! Tiring, but still great!!! 😊
So there's something I forgot to say in my last email that's really
important... I shook hands with David Archuleta!!! Hahaha OK, that's it!
So, this week was really draining I'm not even kidding sometimes I’m wondering why I'm still awake in class or how I’m still able to do a lot of things. We have 6 hours of Thai Class everyday and 3 hours of personal/companionship and additional language study. I'm definitely learning a lot and I'm so thankful to be a missionary and I can do all these things!!! Hahaha!

These are all the members of my district! Sister Mader and I are the only sister missionaries in our district. The elders are all so funny! Here, we are re-enacting 3 chapters from Alma. |
Last Wednesday was my first time to teach our first investigator, Phii Surat. He can't understand any English so obviously, we have to speak in Thai! Well, you might have guessed already that it didn't go well. Hahaha, I was frustrated at that very moment because he can’t understand most of the words that I spoke in Thai. I can’t even understand him as well. Although you can really feel His desire to know more about the gospel, I was really sad that I can’t help him because of the language! That night, I was really thinking so much about it. It was frustrating and I realized that this isn't gonna be easy! I still have a long way to go here in MTC. Praying really helps! Thai Language is really just a tool here– the Holy Ghost can speak pure Thai. And for me to fully receive the Gift of Tongues I know that I should seek it. I should have faith that the Lord can help me in this. I know I should Act in Faith! So I am really studying so hard to learn this language!
And so Thursday came,
we had to teach Phii Surat again!!!!! I’m so happy to have him as our first
investigator. 🙂 Our second time teaching him went really great! I almost cried
because he actually understood what we were saying! Hahaha, we taught him about
prayer and He offered to say the opening prayer which really feels wonderful!!! 🙂 I'm so happy for him! I know that God really answers prayers... I've only
been here for 2 weeks but I have learned so much already!!!!! I now know how to
pray in Thai, testify in Thai, and say my missionary purpose in Thai! 🙂
Yesterday, we went to TRC (Teaching Resource Center) to teach in pure
Thai! Most amazing thing ever this week! 🙂 We had to teach 20 minute lessons
in pure Thai. I can pretty much understand half of the conversation (maybe only
because they are kind? Hahaha!) So it was a great experience 🙂 The gift of
tongues is real! Can't wait to go to Thailand!
Last Sunday,
I wasn't called again to talk. (Thank goodness because I didn’t prepare any
talk, hehehe, I felt I wasn’t going to be called) Hehehehe, so for speakers
every Sunday, they'll call random people on-the-spot, FYI. Hehehe, Sundays
are for temple walks too, so something to look forward to.
Last Friday, was our service day... I just vacuumed carpets and cleaned
water fountains, hahaha! Met a volunteer who served in the PH.
Tuesdays are for P-DAYS!!! Laundry time! I’m waiting for my
laundry to finish so at the moment I’m typing my emails! 🙂 Woke up at 5:45 today
because we want to go early to the temple! 🙂 Provo Temple is soooooo beautiful
♥ finished our session at about 10am then ate lunch at the
temple. Food is so much better! Hehehe!
I don’t know what else to say! 🙂 So I guess this is it for this week! Hehehe,
week 2 DOWN!
