First things first: I'm not on a vegan diet.
I don't intend to try it anytime soon but I went vegan in terms of the shampoo and conditioner that I use. I was sent these products just about a month ago and I thought, why not give it a shot? For the first half of quarantine season, I've been using a keratin shampoo and it's also worked wonders on my hair. However, my hair could be a little oily and the product didn't really solve the problem for me.
Using LOVE Beauty and Planet for a MONTH
The first time I used its shampoo and conditioner reminded me of the shower we take right after dipping in the ocean. Not even kidding! And it made sense to me since it's their ocean collection. It leaves a really refreshing scent that's almost like a perfume, and that's from the Bergamont leaves. I can't even remember how many times I asked my mom and dad to smell my hair because I LOVE the smell. But of course, after using it several times, you kinda get used to the smell and it won't be that amazing.
I love straightening or curling my hair. While using the product, I noticed that the curls don't last long on my hair. I feel like the shampoo and conditioner leaves an extra layer of protection on my hair (from the heat of styling products). Also, I noticed that my strands are softer and less oily — some of the reasons why I recommend this product!!! However, after a month of using it, I feel like my scalps tend to be itchy, and usually, that could mean I might have dandruff but thankfully there's none.
The shampoo and conditioner really do rinse out fast — less than 25 seconds by my count. That's pretty impressive to think that I had 25+ inch hair. Now that I cut 13 inches of my hair, it rinses faster but I make sure I extra rinse so I avoid any the build-up of dandruff since I'm very prone to that.
Plus points to the packaging because it's made of 100% Ocean-bound plastic!
Overall, I'll give this product an 8/10. There are so many reasons for you to try it! It doesn't just help your scalp but helps the planet too.
Don't forget: You will love the scent!
I thought this one is kinda pricey but might actually give it a try.
ReplyDeleteWhen I go shopping I see this product in the store. Great review on the product! I may give it a try. :)

Anything that is better for the planet is a winner in my book. Like you I've been using a keratin shampoo but should investigate other options too!

ReplyDeleteI had never heard of this product. I'm always curious about vegan products. Like is there really animal products in shampoo? Makes me want to go check out the ingredients list on my regular shampoo because now I'm curious. I do love that they recycle the plastic for packaging and save it from going into the ocean. It sounds like it is definitely worth trying!
ReplyDeleteI do like the fact that it does not harm the planet, and, hey 8/10 is a pretty good rating.
ReplyDeleteThis seems like it is a fantastic brand, I will have to check them out the next time I am at Target.

ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a great product that you can put your money into while knowing that you're making an environmentally-responsible decision. I love that there are so many companies focusing on reducing their footprint and exploring options like this. The packaging, especially, made me smile!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a really high quality and ethically produced product. Wonderful to hear that it seems to give your hair some extra protection.
ReplyDeleteOceanbound plastic is a big tick for me - and that there are no animal products in the shampoo. I'm guessing they are not tested on animals either?
